En 1973, le rock progressif vient peut-être d’atteindre l’apothéose. En effet, les PINK FLOYD sortaient « Dark Side Of The Moon », permettant au groupe de dépasser le cadre du genre. Genesis publiait l’attachant et chaleureux « Silling England By Pound », Mike OLDFIELD proposait l’alambiqué « Tubullar Bells », JETHRO TULL « A Passion Play » et en France MAGMA sortait « Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh ». Même les hard rockeurs de LED ZEP s’y mettaient  avec «  Houses Of The Holy ».

John Lees est surtout connu pour être le guitariste et chanteur-compositeur de Barclay James Harvest. L'album a été enregistré en 1972 et devait sortir en juin 1973, ce qui ne s'est pas fait. L'édition commerciale à finalement eut lieu en 1977.
